I see two or three patients a week who have had injections of something into their buttocks. Many times they are unsure of the product. Silicone may pose an unnecessary risk to fat transfer in this situation. In the past, I have cut these areas out and then fat grafted in the future. If the silicone has been injected in the distant past without difficulty, then fat transfer may be appropriate. However, the patient should understand that there is probably an increased risk of problems following the surgery.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA
It is not clear from your question what kind of injection did you have? If it was fat there will be no problem to add additional fat grafts in the buttocks. However, if foreign material is silicone or some other substance, there is possibility that in the course of fat grafting this material gets infected and patient develops life threatening infection (sepsis). In person evaluation with full information about what injected material was, is recommended. Good luck.
Dear Tough2073,based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your picture and questions. Your candidacy for a BBL procedure can only be determined after an in-person consultation and discussion of your medical history. It may be possible to retain what you have and augment it with further fat grafting. Make sure you are only seeing plastic surgeons who are specifically boarded by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.Best of luck!Dallas R. A Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a specialized fat transfer procedure that augments the size and shape of the buttocks without implants. Excess fat is removed from the hips, abdomen, lower back, or thighs with liposuction then a portion of this fat is strategically injected into the buttocks. The fat added during the procedure will help conture and enhance the areas of your previous injections. The BBL procedure will not remove or interfere with your previous injections. It is important to contact a skilled buttocks plastic surgeon to go over the procedure and discuss your desires from the BBL.
and injection is a process. It is not a substance. It would be helpful to know what you were injected with. If this was free silicone then you should perhaps counter blessings that you have not had any problems with it and perhaps consider leaving good enough alone. I'm not sure what else you could've been injected with. In the United States there are a few realistic alternatives in regards to injections that are legal. Most fillers come in very small volumes and would be prohibitively expensive for The volume is needed for a gluteal augmentation. I suggest getting a little more background including what you were injected with. Should you have been injected it with silicone and this was to get contaminated from a BBL you could be looking at a disastrous complication. Still, most likely you're going to have a BBL and do fine. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
Hello dear!! Thanks for the question and provided information as well. I recommend my patients to wait at least 6 weeks before resuming any water related sports, to avoid risk of infection. If you have any concerns, I suggest you to follow up close with your plastic surgeon. Hope this is h...
Hi and welcome to our forum! The fat grafts placed two years ago are now part of you and will not undergo changes or damage due to body position. 30-50% of the graft may resorb after placement within the first month or so, but any later volume reduction is unlikely...UNLESS you lose weight....
Piercings do not have to be removed with a BBL as long as the surgeon does not use the cautery machine. Please contact a BBL specialist to help you optimize your results following a BBL. There are definite preparatory procedures that you can take to help you optimize your results.
