I know the question has been asked in different ways on this forum. I am flying from Northern California to Miami. It is about 7 1/2 to 8 hour trip. I am going to be at the recovery house for 7 days after surgery going home day 8. Should I take baby aspirin!? Is my risk for bleeding lowered by then? Also, will Ave bbl pillow and know to get up every hour. Getting end seat.

Answer: 8 hour flight 7 days after BBL My recommendation would be to find a surgeon locally. Complications can occur after this 8 day period, and it is much more difficult to deal with these if your surgeon is on the other side of the country. As others have stated, you should also avoid sitting for at least 2 weeks after surgery. Lastly, long airline flights can increased your risk of developing a blood clot right after surgery. This can be a very serious, or even fatal, complication. Best of luck.Emile Brown, MD Board Certified Plastic Surgeon, Johns Hopkins & Harvard Trained

Answer: 8 hour flight after Lipo BBL? These are all questions which should be answered by the board certified plastic surgeon who is to perform your lipo and BBL. My post-operative protocols may be different than your PS's and I will not have the benefit of knowing the extent of your surgery and seeing you in person to know how you are healing.Kenneth Hughes, MD, ABPS Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Postoperative protocol Dear 428staK19ir, I instruct my patients not to sit for 2 solid weeks. We provide them a specialized pillow that our patients can sit on during that time. They can sleep on their stomachs or sides. Fat viability depends a lot of surgeon technique. The fat has to be placed back into the buttocks as soon as possible so that it has a greater chance of survival. It has to be placed carefully so that not too much fat is placed in only one area. I understand your concern. It is best that you consult your plastic surgeon regarding post operative care and management (i.e including massage techniques and timing) specific to your case. Your surgeon knows your condition well and has preferences on when and what to use for faster healing and recovery. Post operative care and management depends on the type of surgery performed and the technique used during surgery among other factors. It is best, however, that you follow your plastic surgeon's advice on post operative care management for a smooth and faster healing and recovery.
