Is it normal to be pretty much exhausted up to 9 days post-op? Let me add that I have a very busy toddler (14 months) at home. I wasn't lucky enough to have my significant other home to help days after surgery, only the day of the procedure. My upper back is so tight because it hurts to stretch the incision. I think the constant soreness or slight pain is taking a toll on my energy level.
Answer: Concerns after mastopexy/augmentation... Although some fatigue is to be expected (especially with a toddler in the house), "exhaustion" is not typical. I would suggest that you follow for in person evaluation by your plastic surgeon who will be able to help rule out any potential problems that may explain the exhaustion. Best wishes.

Answer: #Plasticsurgery questions about post operative healing after #mastopexy #breastaugmentation Hi Monca, Thanks for your excellent question. In general some tiredness and sluggish feelings are completely normal after a breast surgery like mastopexy with augmentation, however I agree with my colleagues in this forum that any severe exhaustion should be brought to your operative surgeon's attention. They'll appreciate the open communication. I hope this is helpful and wish you all the very best.Brian S. Coan, MD, FACSCARE Plastic Surgery

Answer: Still exhausted 9 days after surgery For a typical patient, it would not be normal to be exhausted even a few days after surgery. A little more tired than usual, yes, but exhausted no. However, if you are overly active, and perhaps not sleeping well, then its certainly possible. If you feel like you have gotten a reasonable amount of rest, then you may want to see your surgeon just to make sure there is not anything else going on. Are you short of breath? It would be rare, but you want to make sure you dont have a pulmonary embolus.

Answer: Exhaustion after surgery Hello, I'm sorry that you feel so tired after surgery! If you had general anesthesia, this can leave a person feeling tired and lacking energy for up to 2-3 weeks after surgery. Your normal activities may feel much more draining as a result, and modifications to your posture to avoid discomfort can certainly exacerbate the problem. Prescription pain medications can also have this effect. It wouldn't hurt to have your surgeon evaluate your breasts to make sure that there are no signs of complications that could be contributing to how you feel. I hope you feel better soon!
