You should try to avoid rubbing your face and head after Botox as this can cause the substance to migrate to other areas. This can sometimes result in drooping eyelids, but wait a couple of weeks to let the results settle in to see if you have caused any migration. If this is the case, the results will wear off with the Botox and won't be permanent.
Thankyou very much for your question and congratulations on your recent Botoxsession. There is certainly a chance for Botox to migrate to surrounding areaswith vigorous rubbing immediately after treatment. Although this may or may nothave occurred in your situation, there is little that can be done at this time. The results from your injections will start to become apparent in two to threeweeks, and will take up to three months to wear off. If you have any furtherconcerns, I recommend speaking with your Botox provider.
It is recommended not to rub vigorously where Botox was injected for 4 hours after the procedure to reduce the risks of migration to other muscles. In 2 weeks, you will see the full effects. As long as this was after 4 hours, then your migration risks are pretty low. There's not much to do now, but wait. Be sure to follow up with your injector in 2 weeks.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO :)
It's unlikely that you negatively impacted your results. Keep in mind, it will take 1-2 weeks for final results with Botox and results will last 3-4 months. Best, Dr. Emer
Rubbing or massaging areas of recent Botox injection will likely neither help nor hinder the effects of the injections. For years injectors have been going back and forth as to what will provide the best results, but in reality it likely doesn't matter much. Follow up with your injector if you see any adverse effects, but I wouldn't worry!
Hello,I understand your concern, however if it was only a brief rub I am sure there isn't too much for you to be concerned about. It is more, if there is intense massaging of the area - which could raise concern. However, if you feel there is anything to be concerned about, please organise a time to see your practitioner and they will be able to advise the following steps.
The concern with rubbing the injected area immediately after treatment with BOTOX® is that the product could possibly be displaced to other areas where it wasn’t intended to be. This could possibly create some unwanted effects, including drooping eyebrows. That said, whether or not your results will be affected can depend on how vigorously you rubbed the area and whether or not the product had a chance to begin to settle. A light rub, for example, is very different from a heavy massage. I would just keep an eye on it and be sure to contact your plastic surgeon if you have any concerns. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question. Yes, you are correct that it is not advised to rub the treated after injection. There is a risk of moving the Botox to areas not intended to be weaken and the possibility of brow and eyelid drooping. There is nothing that can be done now, you will have to wait and see if this has affected your results. Best of Luck!
It is best not to massage the treated area for 24 hours after the injections. That being said you will know the full effects in two weeks and there really is nothing that can be done until then. The results of Botox last 4 months and will all go away after this time. Best, Dr. Green
Hi hpa77! I would not stress out too much over rubbing your face and forehead. I'm sure with as many people that get Botox, it has happened multiple times with no real adverse consequences. Normally it takes Botox a few days to kick in and then normally we wait 2 weeks for maximal effect. If you notice anything unusual, you can always follow-up with your provider who did the injections. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. From you photo it does appear that you have some enlargement of your masseter muscles. Approximately 15-20 units of Botox in each side will help slim your jawline. This should also help with your jaw clenching and teeth grinding. I recommend having a consultation...
Thank you for your question. It not advisable to have Botox if you are immunosuppressed after the chemotherapy. Please ask you doctors when they estimate your immune system will recover before having Botox. Best of Luck!
Botox is a good treatment for "crows feet". Botox will relax the muscle in this area so you can't make the movement that is creating the wrinkle. Ultherapy brow lift can also help lift the eyebrows. The combination of these two treatments is an alternative to surgery and will not have a su...
