Judging by your photos, it does appear to me that the one side is sitting much higher than the other. My concern here would be that there is a hematoma (collection of blood) that is causing one side to be higher than the other. In general, the implants are compressed initially which causes them to sit up high. After about 4-6 months time they have settled and are in their final position. At this point to make certain you don't have any urgent issues, I would recommend you see your plastic surgeon, ASAP.Hope that helps.
Unfortunately it is very hard to advise you based on the information and photos that you have provided. It does look a bit more swollen on the right side and judging from your dressings, you are probably within 2 weeks of your surgery. It is important that you see your plastic surgeon to outrule any bleeding and collection of blood (haematoma) on the right side.
When concerned, always best to check in with your surgeon. "Drop and fluff" refers to the fact that as the skin stretches and the muscles relax, the implants move down and out slowly – about 1 percent a day. It’ll be about six weeks before they even begin to settle down, but they’ll be close to 80 percent settled and softened at three months. Watching their progress is like watching your hair grow. You don’t see a difference in your hair growth daily, but all of a sudden you need a haircut. Be patient after surgery. Give yourself a few months before making a judgment about your surgical results. You won't know the outcome until then. It is difficult to provide advice with the two photos provided and no other information. If you are early in the recovery process, high riding implants are normal; it may take up to 3-6 months for implants to settle in the pockets.
Hi,I recommend you to consult your PS because the problem you are experiencing is not within the normal ranges. The implants tend to move upwards after operation with the push-effect of the muscles around. If the displacement is too much while resting a pocket revision could be considered.Best wishes,
An in person examination is required before an accurate assessment can be made. Based on the photo, your implants are in fact higher than where they should be, but you are still early in the healing process and this might not be your final results yet. It usually takes around 6 months for the implants to settle into the pockets made by your surgeon. The best course of action would be to communicate directly with your surgeon as he/she knows your condition best.
Dear Sammariew,Thank you for reaching out with your question and pictures. From your pictures it is hard to definitively answer your question, but you are obviously quite soon post-operation given the microfilm dressing you have in place.Implants can often sit high initially after surgery, especially when they have been placed under the muscle, and take weeks or months to drop to their final position. That said, your right breast does look particularly more swollen than your left and this could represent a bleed (haematoma) so i would advise you to seek review from your operating surgeon as soon as possible for examination and reassurance on this.I wish you luck and congratulations on your recent surgery.Marcus
Hi lrpowers98, The two main types of implants are silicone and saline. The shell of the implants can be either textured (which reduces capsular contracture) or smooth. A textured implant sometimes requires a larger incision. The shape of the implant can be either round or tear drop shaped...
About 25% of my breast patients are revision patients.I have also done a great deal of research and writing on malposition. I personally believe that just suturing the capsule to itself (Capsulorraphy) does not hold up long term.I prefer with significant malpositions to use a patients own c...
The majority of breast augmentation patients are able to feel the implants at the base of the breast because that tissue is the thinnest and offers the least amount of coverage. This is also where the implant is exerting the most pressure because of gravity. Finally, the teardrop gummy bear...
