How common is ptosis from contact lenses?

Hello, I wear contact lenses a few times per week. I just read a study that said this can cause upper and/or lower ptosis. Does this happen to everyone or most people who wear contacts long term? I would think if it were that common nobody would wear them.

Wearing contact lenses can cause ptosis. And this is true for both hard and soft contacts. The pulling of the upper eyelid to place and remove the contact lenses might be the cause of this issue.

Ptosis from prolonged contact use can occur.  Ptosis can also occur if you've never worn contacts.  The point is that everyone who wears contacts does not end up with ptosis and those who have never worn contacts are not guaranteed to never have ptosis.  If it is a concern for you I encourage you to speak to your optometrist for more information.
