Generally it is necessary to vertically lift the cheek to recruit more skin and soft tissue into the lower eyelid to put the lateral canthus together under no tension. In my opinion, this also required a rim implant as a felting material to retain the lift cheek in place. Also a spacer graft is needed to control the shape of the lower eyelid. Lateral canthus webbing is an uncommon complication of lower blepharoplasty. The angle at the latteral eye corner should be acute. If as result of surgery skin obscures that acute angle it causes lateral webbing. It is as result of shortage of skin in vertical direction at the lateral eye corner. This can be both a cosmetic problem and a functional ( might obstruct the lateral gaze). There are different methods of correction including small skin flaps or skin grafts. The principle is bringing extra skin to the area of deficiency. It would be important to have a proper clinical examination to assess the condition and also the available local tissue which could be used for repair.
