Hi I'm new here & interested in getting a rhinoplasty. How will this go, I am looking into scheduling consultations w/ some doctors. Some people have mentioned scheduling a 2nd consultation, how long after an initial consult would a 2nd consult be a good idea? Then is there a pre-op appt, then surgery & post-op appt(s?). What is this timeline like and how long does it take?
Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello,You may schedule as many consultations as you like and as quickly as you like. In general, after the initial consultation with your chosen doctor, there is a preop visit, then the surgery visit. This can be accomplished over a few weeks or a few months, depending on your schedule and the doctor's availability. Best of luck!

Answer: Timeline for a rhinoplasty. Every practice will be a little different. For my practice, we try to get new patients an appointment for a consultation within a month. For rhinoplasty patients, we also do computer simulations of what I think can be achieved and we send those to the patient for approval or for them to suggest any changes. That part usually takes a week or less.If the patient then decides to proceed, surgery can usually be scheduled within a month or so. In that pre-op period we also send the patient for a pre-anesthesia medical exam...kind of like a sports physical...with the patient's primary care doctor to make sure they're healthy enough for an operation. I typically meet with the patient again at the pre-op visit, but if the patient has additional questions or concerns prior to surgery or if it's been several months since I initially saw the patient, we'll bring them in for a second "touch base" consultation, too.Hope that helps,--DCPPearson Facial Plastic Surgery®

Answer: Rhinoplasty First I would chose 3 board certified plastic surgeons to consult with. At the appointment, be prepared to state exactly what you do not like as well as what you like about your nose. Discuss any breathing issues. Ask to pre and post op photos of some similar patients. Make sure you have a list of questions concerning the procedure and possible risks and complications. Then decide who you feel will do the best for you and treat you if you have any complications. At the preop, again write your questions down so that you will be sure all your concerns will be addressed. Usually I see my patients the day after surgery , one week later to remove cast and or splints, two weeks, one month, 3 months, 6 months, and at a year.

Answer: Rhinoplasty time frame The time frame will depend on appointment availability. Usually you can get a consultation within a week or so, and then depending on a number of factors, surgery can be performed within a few weeks after that. Every surgeon is different but I see patients initially and then back for a preoperative appointment where consent forms are signed and all last minute questions answered. I then see patients back at one week, six weeks, three months, six months, and one year. Obviously if there are any issues between appointments, I will see them again. It will take approximately one year to see final results from surgery. I would suggest meeting with a few surgeons and they can offer you more specific advise after an in person consultation. Best of luck
