Thank you for your question. Kybella is approved for the safe and effective treatment for the permanent reduction of submental fat. It is the only non-surgical treatment that is FDA approved for the removal of the "double chin." Keep in mind that two to four Kybella treatments may be required for optimal results. I suggest that you move forward and consult with a board certified facial plastic surgeon.Best wishes,
A clinical examination is required to determine if you are a candidate for Kybella or liposuction or will need a neck lift. If you have excessive skin beneath your chin then usually a facelift/ neck lift is required. Removing fat and not treating excess skin may leave you with an undesirable appearance. I would recommend a consultation with a surgeon who can perform all these procedures. Good luck
This is difficult to answer without pictures. Kybella is good for dissolving fat under the chin, but a combination approach is needed to get the most improvement. I recommend a combination approach with thermage, ultherapy, exilis. VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF is an alternative for contouring the chin, if you're a candidate and can be combined with a neck lift, if necessary. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer
Kybella works by dissolving fat but is not effective at tightening excess skin or to treat platysmal banding.
Kybella®, along with a skin/muscle tightening/lifting treatment such as Ultherapy® may be a good option. Most patients get 2-3 Kybella® treatments spaced 2-4 months apart. Prices vary widely based on geography, and Kybella® can cost anywhere from $1000-$3000 per treatment.
Kybella is best in patients who have good skin elasticity. Patients with sagging skin under the chin are going to best be served with a surgical treatment such as a neck lift with liposuction. If you are completely adverse to surgery, you could try a combinations of procedures such as Kybella and an RF treatment for skin tightening but you would really need to be realistic about your expectations.
Thank you for your question. If you currently have concerns about loose or "saggy" skin under your chin and neck then Kybella might not be the answer. If you have good skin quality and some submental fullness or fat under your chin and that is your only present concern then Kybella could be the right treatment for you. Have a consultation with your plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Wish you all the best,Dr. Mentz
Thank you foryour question yeg1344. Kybella isthe first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment forthe double chin. It is difficult to make an assessment without photographs. Since Kybella removes fat, theoretically it is possible that loose skin is left over after the fat is removed. However practically we do not see this. This may be due to collagen formation in the area secondary to the inflammatory response. Please review some before and after photographs to get representative results. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
The most important question is how much skin looseness there exists there already. If you are seeing an experienced injector, they should know whether or not this is a good option for you. Sometimes a skin tightening procedure may be necessary after Kybella injection, although this should be infrequently the case.Without a photo or exam, it is very difficult to answer. But in proper hands, you should get great results.
Thank you for your question. Kybella is an excellent, non-surgical treatment to permanently destroy fat cells under the chin and jawline. I have successfully used it to treat patients in their 50's with excellent results. That said, every patient is different, and it's impossible to say whether or not you would be a good candidate for Kybella without assessing you in-person, or reviewing your photos. Generally speaking, I think Kybella works best for patients with mild or moderate fullness under their chins, and with good skin quality overall. Although Kybella does seem to slightly tighten the skin in treated areas, I generally don't recommend it for patients with significant loose skin or prominent vertical neck bands, as these can get worse after treatment. Kybella can be coupled with non-surgical skin tightening treatments like ThermiTight or Ultherapy if needed as well. I would recommend scheduling a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss the best treatment options for you. Best of luck!
If you would have asked a plastic surgeon, I believe they would have told you to have lipo in the first place. Four rounds of Kybella is likely more expensive than doing submental lipo in the office or in the outpatient setting, is minimally invasive, and is a one-shot procedure usually....
Thank you for your question regarding Kybella. Kybella is the only FDA approved injectable treatment for dissolving fat. I would consult with several board certified Plastic Surgeons in the area to make sure you receive the correct treatment. Hope this helps.
Thank you for your question JULBE107. Kybella is the first and thus-far only FDA-approved non-surgical injectable treatment for the double chin. In the lower face Botox can be placed in the masseter muscle to contour the lower face. Kybella can help with jawline definition. Please consult with a...
