Is it possible to add 50cc more to my implants without exchanging them? (photos)

Question

I just had implants put in July 2 2018. The question is I would like them to be firmer without exchanging for bigger implants. I currently have mentor high profile 380cc filed to 425. I wanted to add another 50cc or more to these implants. Is this procedure possible? Thank you

Saline implants have a range of volumes from minimum to maximum.  I generally fill to the maximum to minimize rippling, but I typically do not overfill unless there is a compelling reason to do so.  The risks involved in overfilling the implants would not be worth the additional 50cc increase which would likely go unnoticed.  There have not been any cases of manufacturer warranty issues related to overfilling saline breast implants of which I am aware.

Thanks for your question. Although it is possible it is not the best option. I would recommend to do an implants exchange, would be good to also change for silicon implants to achieve your goals. That said, you definitely have to choose your surgeon correctly and make sure that he/she has the training and experience to meet your goals with absolute safety.  Best is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with specialized expertise in this procedure.

Although it is possible, it is not recommended.If you are going to open the incisions then probably exchanging the implants is a better idea. If it is the firmness and not the size that is bothering you- then changing to silicone implants may be an option as well.Lastly transferring fat from your abdomen to your breasts is another way to increase the size of your implants without exchanging or changing your current implants.Good luck.

Hello and thank you for the question. As long as we stay within range, volume can be added or taken off the existing implant. Each breast implant has specific minimum and maximum fill volume, recommended by the manufacturer. Violating the recommended manufacturer's volumes is not advisable and can result in increased deflation rate. Furthermore, there may be additional issues with the warranty. This would not be advisable because at that point the implants would likely exceed the recommended manufacturers fill limit. 
Larger implants that can safely hold the extra volume are your best bet.
I would tell you however that the addition of 50cc is unlikely to produce any visible change. 
If you want more “firmness” then I would recommend you consider silicone filled.

Hello! 50 cc would not really make any difference in terms of feeling more firm, I recommend at least 100 cc more to be able to achieve a significant change, most likely you need new implants or try another profile (Ultra High)

Yes, what you are describing is possible but may or may not be the best option available to you.  Adding more volume to saline breast implants does involve a surgical procedure, and like every surgical procedure, there are some risks/complications associated with it.  For example, manipulating the breast implant valve can be problematic (and despite best efforts) there may be damage to it.  Also, keep in mind that no one (including you or your plastic surgeon) will know exactly what aesthetic outcome will be achieved with an additional 50 cc saline  volume added.   In most cases, adding 50 cc of volume achieves little to no change in aesthetic outcomes. Also, in some cases, adjustment or breast implant capsules is also necessary to achieve the desired aesthetic outcome.   Whether or not this will be necessary, can only be determined after careful physical examination and careful communication of your goals.   Instead, you may wish to consider demonstrating your goals carefully with your plastic surgeon. Then, allow him/her to utilize fresh implants (if he/she feels that the use of new implants will help achieve your desired outcome). Again, careful communication of your concerns/goals will be key. Best wishes with your decision-making and for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.

This procedure is possible using the rigth technique and the rigth implants,i will reccomend you to exchange the implants to gel silicone Motiva implants in order to get more closer to your expectatives,addimg more cc to the breast it may make it less firm,but thats why you must choose the rigth surgeon with thye enougth experience in breast procedures,and last but not less important a good post op.
