Thank you for your question. You were wise to be cautious. I typically recommend that my patients avoid sun exposure on their scars for the first year after surgery. I would recommend wearing a UV protective shirt. Apply sunscreen to your scars and then wear your shirt over the top....

This is best answered by your own surgeon. There can be different types of surgery, each with different recoveries. In general I allow my patients to begin full exercise two weeks after surgery with the exception of exercise that involves their chest, which they can start three weeks after surgery.
