Hi all I have looked into getting my ears corrected. I am located in England. I have looked at the stitch method, traditional and earfold. What would you suggest would be the best method for my ears. Look forward to any advice. Thanks.
Answer: Ear surgery (otoplasty) Your ears have all the necessary anatomy for a great outcome in the hands of an experienced surgeon. Traditional methods are exactly that because they have stood the test of time, have acceptable risk and more importantly, in the right hands, produce reliable, impressive outcomes. You will need incisions only behind the ears, sutures to hold the shape of the ear itself and also sutures that bring the whole ear more towards the scalp. You will probably also need a trimming of the bowl. Good luck.

Answer: Techniques for ear repair Thank you for your question and pictures. You would be a great candidate for a standard otoplasty utilizing Mustarde (sutures to recreate the anti helix) and Furnas (ear setback) suture techniques. Otoplasty is a surgical technique used to correct prominent and/or asymmetric ears. Multiple techniques are used depending upon the goals of surgery. Results are immediate and noticeable. In your consultation with your surgeon, make sure you are very specific as to what bothers you about the appearance of each ear. Ears are complex structures. There isn't just one technique that addresses each issue. Seek consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon who is experienced with external ear surgery. Good Luck!

Answer: Stitch, Traditional and Earfold methods - What is the best method to correct my ears? Read all the reports in the internet about the ear-pinning methods you have mentioned. You will find out that the minimally invasive Dr Merck Stitch Method has the least risks. It also has the advantage that you can check, as well as co-determine the new position of your ears in a hand-held mirror during and at the end of the operation. A head bandage is not necessary.
