What is the glue used in ear pinning surgery for? (otoplasty/pinnaplasty)

Asked By:AJ White in London, GB

Hello. I've very recently had my ears pinned back by a UK surgeon. I have a lot of glue on the top of my ears which my surgeon said will come off by itself and not to pick it. Is the glue used to help hold the ears back or just to protect the incisions?
