Can I get Rhinoplasty with a Deviated Septum? MRI photos attached. (photos)

Hello, for a while I have wanted Rhinoplasty. For unrelated reasons, I recently had an MRI which showed what I think is a deviated septum. I suffer no symptoms from this. Now Gorgeous Getaways has said it would be best to get the Rhinoplasty done in Australia, rather than Thailand. My concern is that Rhinoplasty could interfere and make the deviation worse and or cause me symptoms. I would be wanting to reduce the size of my nose by removing the hump and making the tip smaller. Thank you :)

Correction of a deviated septum is often done with a rhinoplasty. A deviated septum may result in functional (nasal obstruction) or aesthetic (crooked nose) problems.  Many times the cartilage from a septum is used to create a more balanced nose in rhinoplasty.

Hi thereYes there is a bit going on here with deviated septum and large turbinates, but as you are asymptomatic it is not a great concern and is very common. Just about everybody has some sort of septal deviation, and we make use of this in rhinoplasty to take cartilage and help with the shaping in the rhinoplasty.You should have your rhinoplasty at the same time as dealing with your septum and possibly turbinates. Do not have the septum dealt with separately before the rhinoplasty.  Rhinoplasty involves all components of the nose, and your rhinoplasty would be no different to most.I hope this helps.

Thanks for your post. You most definitely have a deviated nasal septum, along with hypertrophic inferior turbinates and small bilateral concha bullosa of the middle turbinates. It would be best for you to consider having functional nasal airway correction and rhinoplasty at the same operation. There are many appropriate reasons for this, including avoiding any new or additional nasal obstruction by performing a reduction rhinoplasty without addressing these other important structural concerns. You should consider septoplasty, turbinate reduction,  endoscopic concha bullosa reduction and rhinoplasty together. Conversely, if you fix your deviated nasal septum first and forgo the rhinoplasty, then important autologous septal cartilage from you own nose could be lost as a resource for use with your rhinoplasty. For these and other reasons,  a combined procedure is best in my opinion. I would consult with an experienced, reputable Facial Plastic Surgeon with special interest in rhinoplasty/ septoplasty and sinus surgery for a comprehensive evaluation.
