Answer: Scar laser treatment combined with melarase creams to help with pigmentation Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. Answer: Dark Scars from insect bites Hello,Your condition is a common problem for many of our medium skin type patients. If the scars are mostly a brown color, we have been successful in using either a prescription strength hydroquinone (6 or 8%) topical bleaching product and/or a Q-switched YAG laser that targets brown discoloration. For a laser option, the average patient with these scars benefits from 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. The idea is gradual and progressive, gentle fading. There is no downtime, and there is minimal discomfort. Wearing sunscreen anytime your legs are exposed to day light is a must regardless of a treatment plan. The below link has before/after photos of the same condition.Regards.

Answer: Treating Dark Spots / PIH Thanks for your question and posting pictures. The dark spot look like you have post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH). After a personal consultation, we would probably recommend the PicoSure Laser with the FOCUS and/or Flat Lens for pigment correction. The FOCUS lens also works well on scar reduction. PicoSure is safe for all skin types. Depending on the severity of the pigment, it will probably take 1 to 4 treatments. Best of luck.
