I'm a 27 year old female. My whole face is very asymmetrical, but my nose contributes most to it. It seems to be deviated, but what bothers me even more is the uneven cartilage on the tip, which makes my nose from the three quarter profile look way pointer and sharper than the left one. It looks like two different noses. Is it possible to even out the cartilage and make my nose (more) symmetrical? What procedure would best suit me? Thank you.
Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello! Thank you for your question. As far as I can see from the photos you have a slightly crocked nose and dorsal hump. With open rhinoplasty your nose can be look more symmetrical, elegant and harmonized with your face. Please keep in mind that %100 symmetry is not achievable in any case. It would be more convenient to decide with face-to-face consultation. Best Regards!

Answer: Closed atraumatic rhinoplasty Dear Friendly616706, Thankyou for providing pictures for a better recommendation. In my professional opinion, the nostril asymmetry is one of the most difficult deformities to be addressed in rhinoplasty field, because of soft tissue limitations. Consequently, closed atraumatic rhinoplasty surgery can help to improve the nostrils however, 100% symmetry is not achievable, this procedure can help slim down your nose and tip and nostrils can also be reduced . I am attaching a link for before and after if you would like to look deeper into the procedure and what to expect. Regards, TAS TEAM

Answer: What can I do to fix asymmetry and uneven nose tip cartilage from three quarter profile? Every nose is different and unique to that individual. If the appearance of your nose concerns you enough to do something about it, it can be improved with a natural artistically performed rhinoplasty. What would be the best option and exact procedure would depend on an examination and discussion about desired outcome. Excellent results can be achieved with either a closed or open technique. Keep in mind that following advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited photos without examining you, physically feeling your tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. Natural appearing results need to be individualized and what is appropriate for one patient is not necessarily the best for someone else. I would suggest that you find a surgeon with extensive rhinoplasty experience certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and one who is ideally a member of The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, M.D., FACS La Jolla, California

Answer: Rhinoplasty Thank you for your question. You are an excellent candidate for rhinoplasty. I think it is one of the most beautifying surgeries that we do as plastic surgeons. A large portion of my practice is dedicated to rhinoplasty surgery. It is important to only see plastic surgeons with extensive experience in rhinoplasty, ie perform at least 6 per month and have performed hundreds of cases. Also, critically evaluate on-line galleries to see if their art form resonates with yours. Rhinoplasty is definitely a grey haired plastic surgeon's sport. Most plastic surgeons like to perform lip lift procedures at a separate time. Best wishes to you.
