Wide nostrils when I smile. Best procedure? (photo)

Question

My main concern is with my nostrils—they widen when I smile, and my nasal tip tends to droop. Additionally, I have flared nostrils, which give off a more serious or intense appearance. I’d really love a softer, more feminine look for my nose and am ready to move forward with this. I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts.

The nostril width and flare can make them look prominent and noticeable. The best solution is alarplasty.  It is a quick procedure done under local anesthesia that addresses both issues. The recovery is quick.

An Alar plasty can accomplish narrowing wide nostrils by removal of a wedge of skin at the base of the nostrils themselves to narrow them. You also have a hanging columella, which can be reduced. Releasing of the depressor septi ligament will help prevent the tip of the nose from drooping downward when smiling. At the time of the Alar- plasty, the lateral widening ligaments can be released, which will reduce the amount of dynamic flare when smiling approximately 40 to 50%. This procedure can be performed under either local or general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure
