How to reduce the alar skin? (photo)

Question

I’ve had a rhinoplasty but the lower part of my nose is still wide. One doctor told me that only steroid injections can reduce the size of my nose but I’ve seen a doctor online perform surgery specifically for this problem. What options do I have to reduce the size of my ala.? There’s been so much contradiction on this topic and want to know what could actually be done.

Thank you for posting your question here!My answer will be based on the limited information and pictures provided, for a detailed and personalized plan please consult with your plastic surgeon in person.It is hard to tell from the single picture provided what is needed . There are multiple ways of narrowing the nasal base or reducing the ala , your surgeon will have to figure out what is the issue first, is it the alar flaring or is it redundant nasal sill , each issue has a different surgical approach , but there are surgical solutions for the issue , I would encourage you to discuss with your surgeon so that they can come up with a plan that works for you.I hope this helps, best of luck!
