That said, I doubt that anyone would expect you to be 175 lbs if you're only 5'4". That results in a BMI of 30 which is considered "obese". If your BMI is between 19 and 25, you're considered normal weight. Wishing you well.Dr. Joseph

I agree. If your BMI is not too high it should be OK.  Patiens wtih high BMI's tend to have more risks of complications.   But  if your weight is under 200lbs you are probably ok.  Best to be seen in person.

A better measure of height and weight acceptability for elective cosmetic surgery is using a BMI calculation. This is also known as Body Mass Index. In our practice, the anesthesiologists recommend that all patients have a BMI of 34 or less. A BMI greater than 34 increases the chances of complications with surgery.

Your surgeon may be concerned about your weight and height based on your medical history, or an anesthesia concern.  Ask him to clarify his concern.  Best wishes!
