Do I need just a tip plasty or a full Rhinoplasty?

Generally, most people benefit from a full rhinoplasty to maintain the overall balance of the nose.  You are correct that changing one component can affect the appearance of the other components.  At the same time, some patients have overgrowth of the tip and would benefit from tip surgery alone.  My comments are made in general.  More specifically, as mentioned by other panelists, I too feel that you have a balanced nose which looks good.  If you have good reasons for making a change and are comfortable with the surgical plan, then it becomes a personal decision. When you start out with a generally balanced nose that looks good, it makes most sense to be completely sure of what you want and that your surgeon feels the same confidence that he/she understands your concerns and agrees with what needs to and can be done. Otherwise, you may be disappointed. It certainly is not a bad idea to get other opinions from surgeons who can examine you in person before proceeding with an operation. Dr. B

Most patients require a full rhinoplasty to make sure all the components of the nose balance with each other and the new nose  balances with the patient's facial features.  It is very important have clear expectations when going in for a rhinoplasty procedure. Computer imaging would also be helpful at the consultation process to  educate the patient's on what can and cannot be performed with the rhinoplasty procedure.  For many examples, please see the link and the video below

rach105, you need a full rhinoplasty and yours isn't an easy one. See someone with expertise and experience; at least 10 years worth. See several specialists and explore their photos to get an idea if you like that doctors noses. Good luck!

Your nose looks good. The surgeon's recommendation of a tipplasty is reasonable depending on your objectives/goals. Consult in person with 2 other experienced and expert board certified plastic surgeons to better understand your options.

I am just wondering what it is about your nose that you don't like.  You have a nice nose, and most likely would need just a tipplasty, but a consultation would be necessary for accurate evaluation.  Before you try surgery, however, try adding a bit of volume (HA filler) to your cheeks.  You have a flat cheek area which would benefit from a filler to give you a soft, round, feminine cheek.
