Have a tattoo over a scar. Scar has a little bit of redness thats visible underneath the tattoo, was wondering if vbeam would be a safe option? Have done vbeam prior multiple times with very good results.
Answer: Vbeam and tattoos Vbeam works well for redness from blood vessels. However, the way the laser fires would not be good for a scar under a tattoo as the vbeam could pick up color in the tattoo and cause blistering or a burn. If the scar is raised, possibly an injection of steroid could work. Non-ablative lasers that don't attract color like the fraxel could be used as well. But I would avoid using a pulsed dye laser over a tattoo. Best of luck.

Answer: Vbeam treatment should not affect your tattoo Very good question. Vbeam is an excellent choice for treating red lesions on the skin. The device targets the lesion to remove it without damaging surrounding skin and tissue. The procedure should also not impact your tattoo. That said, there are other lasers that might also be a good option for your scar treatment. I encourage you to schedule an in-person assessment with a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert in laser treatments. In my office, I have more than 50 laser devices to choose from, which allows me to customize treatments with precision that ensures an optimal outcome.
