Why do I have urges to cry after lipo?

I had lipo today and it was a wonderful experience. My doctor was fantastic. I'm not experiencing too much discomfort so I'm really concerned about why I have urges to cry. I was definitely shaky towards the end of the procedure and my doctor assured me that it was the effects of the anesthesia and it would wear off in a few hours. He was right, as it did wear off. Is it normal to feel like I want to cry, even though I have absolutely no reason to be feeling like this?

Congratulations on your recent surgery.  There are lots of patients that feel the same way you do in regards to feeling like crying.  The anesthesia plays a huge role in this and you should not be concerned. Stay in contact with your surgeon and discuss it with them.  If it is not tolerable a prescription could be prescribed.  Best of luck to you !

Thank you for your question. Healing after plastic surgery is a process and the earlier parts are the most challenging.  Emotions are a big part of the process as well. Side effects of the anesthesia may also be playing a part. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
