I received volbella injection in upper lip and a little under eyes exactly one month ago. This morning I woke up with bad swelling that got worse as the day went on in my upper and a little swollen under eyes. I contacted my injector and his response was "I have never seen any type of delayed reaction to hyaluronic lip fillers" I went to the emergency room and they told me I may have angioedema but they are not sure why or what caused it. They did not give me anything to treat.

Answer: Swollen upper lip one month after Volbella?
Thank you for your question jackie3185. I am sorry to hear about your situation. Volbella is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to enhance the lips. Angioedema is normally a result of an allergic reaction. If there is an allergy to a component of the product the reaction would be seen in the ...
Volbella is an ideal dermal filler for patients who want a subtle, natural look to their lips and are afraid of too much volume. However, if it isn't delivering the look that you like, there are other fillers than can give more "plump" to the lips such as Juvéderm and Restylane.
While it is safe to use 1 syringe under each eye, I always think it best to start small. I think it delivers the safest and most natural looking aesthetic result. Particularly under the eyes. I would suggest that you get a second opinion from another really experienced injector in your area.
