Thank you for sharing your question and photograph. It is safe to have a full syringe placed under each eye but I typically recommend patients pursue an incremental approach to improvement in the lower eyelid region. Doing too much filler can lead to an overdone look and increases the likelihood of swelling. You may also wish to consider cheek filler which can help support the lower eyelid tissues to limit the degree of tension present. See an ASPS board certified plastic surgeon in consultation to discuss.
While it is safe to use 1 syringe under each eye, I always think it best to start small. I think it delivers the safest and most natural looking aesthetic result. Particularly under the eyes. I would suggest that you get a second opinion from another really experienced injector in your area.
Thank you foryour question amandiney. I understand your concern. Volbella is ahyaluronic acid filler designed to enhance the lips. Volbella comes in 0.55 cc syringes. Starting with one of these syringes per side under the eyes is safe and conservative. We assess results 2 weeks after the treatment once the swelling has resolved. At that point more product can be added if further enhancement is desired. Pleaseconsult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
Most people just need 0.2 to 0.3 cc per eye. Remember Volbella comes in 0.5 cc unlike most other fillers that come in 1 cc. To avoid lumps and bumps and the Tyndall effect- an incremental approach is best. Get the filler then come back after 2 weeks and get some more if needed.
Thank you for your question and for submitting your photo. It's difficult to make exact recommendations without assessing you in-person. That said, while it certainly is safe to inject two syringes of Volbella in the tear troughs and under the eyes, you would likely benefit from a combination approach with fillers. I find that many patients with prominent tear troughs often benefit from fillers in the cheeks as well - deep injections on the cheekbones actually help lift the whole cheek and the tear troughs, minimizing the amount of filler that needs to be injected directly under the eyes. Just treating the under eyes in isolation often does not provide enough structure and support to create an ideal cosmetic result. The tear troughs and under eyes are among most complex areas to inject with filler, and require a great deal of expertise. Filler injections here should really only be performed by experienced cosmetic dermatologists or plastic surgeons. Best of luck!
I am so sorry that you are experiencing this. You need to have this assessed in person by a really experienced injector such as a board certified plastic surgeon or cosmetic dermatologist. I think that you are going to have to have at least some of the Volbella dissolved.
Yes. Some patients do experience this kind of delayed swelling in the tear trough area. Make an appointment to see your injector about having some of the filler dissolved. So sorry that you are experiencing this.
Both Vollure (called Vollift in Europe) and Volbella are both HA fillers in the Juvéderm family. The difference really come down to the thickness or weight of the fillers. Volbella is a very light weight, thin filler while Vollure has more structure. The right one is really going to depend on yo...
