What is the best serum to use after Microneedling w/PRP for acne scars and uneven skin texture?

Our office has many different treatments for scars depending on the depth of atrophy or hypertrophy. Scars require a combination approach using our HI DEF protocol which uses a combination of lasers, topical scar modulation, and RF treatments to pixelate scars, improve contour, reduce hyperpigmentation, and improve the visibility of the scars so that they are no longer visible in ambient light. Everyone has a unique pattern of scarring and we employ our HIDEF technique to improve texture, color, contour, and topography. We often use a combination of treatments that begin with a careful examination to examine the micro texturing of the acne scars. Atrophic scars and indented scars can benefit from injectable fillers such as Radiesse, Sculptra, and Restylane with or without subcision to remove tethered scars and atrophic depression. Hyper-redness in scars can be improved with V beam laser, Excel V, BBL, IPL, and Venus RF to improve the redness and reduce the visibility of deep scars. Fractional Thulium laser and clear & brilliant can also reduce the inflammation and redness of the scar when combined with topical therapy. Fractional lasers such as Fraxel, erbium, and CO2 laser can be combined with radio frequency and also fractional RF to improve textual issues and microtopography. Subcision and TCA cross are also used for deep ice pick scars and narrow valley scars in order to improve the micro texture. Above all, our combination approach with our clinical nurses and board-certified plastic surgeons can improve the quality of your skin by using at home Melarase creams combined with PRP treatments in our office to improve your skin quality and tone. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with an experienced team of experts in order to reduce your scarring.

Finally, hyperpigmentation of scars can be improved with at-home Melarase AM, Melarase PM, and Melapads to help reduce active PIH and melanin deposition.

thank you for your question! You wont need any serum for the first 48 hours post procedure besides what is given to you by your healthcare professional. For uneven skin texture and tone I always recommend vitamin c in the morning and retinol at night. You can also follow up after your microneedling series with something like a dermalinfusion facial to address your other skin concerns.

Microneedling the skin causes tiny wounds in the tissue that requires specific care in order for the skin to heal properly and for your to benefit the most from your skin care in the process. SPF should be a product incorporated into your routine to protect your skin not only after a procedure, but daily to prevent fine lines and wrinkles. 
The skin serum I tend to recommend patients use post microneedling is Skinceuticals Hyaluronic Serum for optimal skin hydration along with Skinceuticals Vitamin C for healing and skin brightness.

Hi Thanks for your question. We combine our SkinPen treatment with a Hyaluronic Acid serum as this increases hydration and encourages cell renewal within the skin it is applied directly after needling the skin as it can penetrate deeper to maximise results. Hope this helps

It has been clinically proven to increase results, decrease downtime, and virtually remove any potential risks. This system was formulated by a physician. Thank you for your question. Microneedling is an effective treatment to help with acne scars, especially with PRP. No other serum is needed post microneedling while the channels are open if PRP is being used. However, microneedling isn’t the best option to address skin texture. I would recommend adding professional peels to your monthly skin care. A serum with  active vitamin c during the day to address the tone and redness. A retinol at night to retexturize and continue the cell renewal process.
