Aside from stimulating the collagen, can this type of filler be used to widen the mandible angles like radiesse? I'm looking for a more cost effective approach so any advice would really help me. Thank you.

Answer: Sculptra for bony augmentation Dear Elliott,Sculptra is not considered to be a bone augmenting material. As you have alluded, it stimulates collagen production, which primarilly resides in the skin and soft tissues. Radiesse, on the other hand, is made of calcium hydroxylappatite, a substance more compatible with the minerals found in bone, and is therefore a better bone augmenting choice. However, widening the mandibular angles can be achieved with Sculptra, by augmenting the soft tissues over the mandibular angles. In my practice, the costs would be equivalent. Good luck!
