Is it safe to have a breast augmentation with a couple of cysts? Could it be removed during the surgery?

Prior to breast augmentation, ultrasound/ sonogram should be performed and the doctor monitoring your cysts should be consulted.  Breast implants are frequently placed behind the muscle and depending on the incision, the cysts may not be approached during standard breast augmentation techniques.Fibrocystic breasts are quite common even in women undergoing elective breast surgery.

best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Cysts can be safely removed at the same time as your breast augmentation.  The tissue specimens will be analyzed in the lab after they are excised.   Make sure you specifically look
at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery
performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.   The most
important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend
that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who
can evaluate you in person.

It is generally safe to have breast implants even if you have cysts. Cysts are very common and unless there is a specific reason to have them removed, they are usually best left alone. Even if removed, they can recur. It would be best to have an ultrasound scan to fully evaluate your cysts before your breast augmentation.

Cysts in the breasts are very common and not usually removed at the time of breast augmentation. It is not harmful to have implants in a breast with cysts--it occurs that way in a significant number of patients.

NYgirl565.  Good question. I have performed breast cyst removal at the same time while performing breast augmentation numerous times, safely and effectively. However, it does depend on the location of the cysts.  Even though you are younger than 40 years old, mammogram as a baseline is a good idea prior to breast augmentation, since you are a “cyst former “. Be certain to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon. It is safe to have a BA despite the Cysts. There won't be much risk of complications with regards to the presence of the cysts and they may be removed if they are easily identified by your surgeon.

I would first get the cysts evaluated to make sure they are benign and have no other issues. But the surgery for breast augmentation and cyst removal or biopsy is usually not recommended to be done at the same time because it does increase your risk of infection in the implanted area. The second issue is it may also increase your risk of capsular contracture after you breast augmentation surgery. Please remember that placing an implant the area has to be completely sterile and we dont want to compound that to having a secondary surgery that could introduce bacteria into the implant pocket.

Assuming the cysts were not causing any problems beforehand. Going through the surgery will be of little issue. Whether or not your surgeon would remove them would depend on several factors, such as if it is even worth it to remove them as to not cause any unnecessary injury that might affect the aesthetics of the breasts.

Best to be examined in person and USS location of the cysts. If the cysts are a problem then you are best to have these treated first and then consider a BBA when everything has settled. If the cysts are not a problem then a BBA would be fine. I don't tend to recommend removal of cysts at the same time as a BBA unless they are very easy to remove and easily visualised at the time of surgery. 

Yes, you can have the cysts removed if they are large enough to be felt. However, just removing the existing cysts will not prevent other cysts developing. You might want to discuss this with your surgeon during the consultation.
