The best way to ensure a beautiful outcome to your liposuction is to choose the right dermatologic surgeon. Sitting won’t affect your results. However, it’s always good to take a break every hour or so to let your body stretch — that’s for anyone who sits all day. You may also want to consider noninvasive fat-elimination techniques, such as Vanquish, CoolSculpting and ThermiTight. Please consult a board-certified dermatologist who is an expert at body contouring.
Liposuction in general is a technique and surgeon dependent procedure in which significant results without contour issues are achieved by few. Find a PS who will liposuction the subcutaneous fat as evenly as possible so that every area is liposuctioned to the exact same thickness with machine-like precision. When the proper postoperative regimen is followed, the risk for contour irregularity is exceedingly small. The compression garment is recommended by most plastic surgeons for a period of 4 to 6 weeks after liposuction. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. Wear your elastic garment for at least 4 weeks after surgery and that should do the trick. Also discuss recovery with your surgeon. Be sure to consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Good luck!
Hello and thank you for your question. Thebest advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation. If good technique is used, then liposuction should not result in creases, even if you sit for work post-operatively. Make sure you specifically lookat before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgeryperformed by your surgeon and evaluate their results. The mostimportant aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommendthat you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon whocan evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. We do liposuction very carefully and use compression garments for 4 weeks after lipo contouring surgery, and with this approach we rarely see bad grooves from lipo. The key is for the surgeon not to be aggressive with fat removal where the patient is concerned about skin contour.
After liposuction, it’s important to follow your surgeon’s post-operative instructions. To prevent creases and dents when sitting for long periods, consider using a cushion or pillow to support your lower body and distribute pressure evenly. Take regular breaks to stand and move around, promoting better circulation. Compression garments recommended by your surgeon can also help in shaping and supporting the treated areas. Always consult your surgeon for guidance based on your specific case.
Finding the right surgeon is crucial. Your board certified plastic surgeon should feel very comfortable talking to you about these concerns and your should ask to see examples of his/her work. An experienced surgeon who takes their time can minimize the risk. Compression post-operatively is a very important component of optimal healing so be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions.
Creases will develop a bit initially from natural points of flexion. Often with healing and as the swelling subsides, the creases will diminish. Good technique should minimize the risk of contour issues after lipo.
When liposuction is performed diligently and a compression garment worn, you should not have this issue. The result is not dependent on whether you stand or sit at work.
for all of our liposuction patients, we use abdominal boards under their garment (faja), and lipo foam in specific areas. sitting, in general, causes a crease across the abdomen - so we find it very helpful and important to use the foam and board to help prevent your garment from causing a crease in your skin. we include these items (along with two garments) in all of our packages because we find them important and helpful in your recovery and results. postop massages may also help with this, but different surgeons have different feelings about this. speak to your surgeon and ask them their specific recommendations for you. listed below is a picture of a lipo patient of mine that followed these recommendations. good luck!
Cost factors vary significantly for a number of good reasons: Prices vary greatly because the surgery itself encompasses a wide range of techniques that can be performed to different extents. My recommendation is to first find the most qualified surgeons where you want the surgery ...
It is hard to predict the results for each individual person, but usually the liposuction results are long lasting assuming your level of exercise and diet stays the same. See link below for examples.
Usually sensations subside at the six month period. I am wondering when was your first surgery. Overall, I would expect the symptoms to improve. There are some topical medications that can help (Voltaren Gel) and some others (Gabapentin) that may be useful. You must...
