Hello,What sort of 'liposuction' was this? Laser, Vaser, ultrasound, Radiofrequency? Something else must have been involved to cause these large, full thickness burns (third degree). The photos really don't give a good idea the size, but they will need to be debrided of necrotic tissue and treated as wounds. Best of luck.
I recommend following up with your Doctor for after care. I recommend hyperbaric oxygen and Silagen + Bioshield to promote healing. Lymphatic massage along with compression can help improve any swelling, which can last 3-6 months after your procedure. To improve your final results, I also recommend adding vanquish for further fat removal, exilis/venus legacy for skin tightening, cellutone/z wave to make the skin smooth, remove scar tissue, and improve the skin’s appearance. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
Dear alexxxxa, yes, it does look like skin injury. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon and get a proper examination. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Society of Plastic Surgery
Thank you for your question and photos. It is a liposuction burn with imminent skin necrosis. This requires immediate attention to decrease the area of skin loss and prevent infection. Might still try hyperbaric oxygen treatment. Again, it is not the machine! As surgeons, we need to stop blaming the machines, but take responsibility for poor surgical technique. Poor technique and judgement causes these scans which will result in permanent scars. Good luck with your healing. Keep close to your surgeon and his/ her advice.
Yes - this looks concerning. The skin pictured is certainly struggling, and may go on to necrosis.Did you have liposuction with an energy-based device? (laser, VASER, ultrasonic)Best to report back promptly to your surgeon to discuss proper care & dressings for this area.
As you probably know there are different systems of liposuction. There are some that only work with negative pressure, some will use the force of the water beam and some will generate heat of some sort. That can be by ultrsound, radiofrequency or laser. Promising a skin tightening which is a direct effect of a slight burn off the dermis. That can be a problem if you remain with the heat probe too close to one spot for too long of a time you can get a burn. I would suggest for you to present back to you a plastic surgeon and have him/her evaluate the area. Have a wonderful rest of the day and greetings from the beautiful island of Jamaica.
For sure these are burns and need to be treated accordingly with say silvadene. They may need revision after they heal.
Unfortunately, you are going to loose skin of those " cooked areas " , in addition to waviness of the surrounding skin in the suctioned area. Wait for skin slough or get a consultation fer debridement and skin grafting.
Thank you for your question. Based on the picture and your description your skin has some necrosis. It will take several weeks to heal. You need good local wound care. I recommend you to see your PS for evaluation and follow up care.
From your photos it does appear that you have some injury to your skin. Lipo burns are a known complications when using forms of liposuction with energy such as vaser or laser. You can also see burns with use of basket cannulas which can be more traumatic during aggressive liposuction. See your doctor asap as proper wound care is important.
Congratulations on your weight loss. It’s very important that you pick a good board certified plastic surgeon that performs surgery in a certified surgical facility. You would be a good candidate for a tummy tuck and liposuction. Unfortunately I do not know what areas of your body you want li...
Hi kaibeaulexijetson10 and congratulations on your lipo freezing! While frustrating, it is not uncommon to experience bowl changes following certain cosmetic procedures. The cause for this slow down could be the result of low fluid intake or dietary changes or it could be a medication side e...
First of all, congratulations on your liposuction, CougrGroomr! It’s normal to experience nerve changes - like numbness and hypersensitivity - after liposuction. Usually, it persists for weeks and months. There’s no certain time when it will resolve, but for some people, it subsides within a ye...
