Peeling skin off breast after breast reduction? (Photo)

I am 3 weeks post op B.R. At my 1 week appt the nurse took my tape off & removed skin from the right breast. she said it was superficial and would heal in time. When I went in for my 2 weeks appt more skin came off. I have appt in 3 weeks to remove my stitches but I decided to remove the tape myself as to let the skin heal on it on, but now it's turning a weird color!! Is this normal at my stage in recovery??? Also I have large bulges on both sides of my breast.... am I healing properly.

The photos you submit show partial loss of breast tissue on the right side at and above the T zone. This will take time to heal and will leave a scar that will most likely need to be revised in the future. Speak to your surgeon about how they want to treat this. It does not appear to be due to infection from the pictures, but an exam is necessary with a possible wound culture to be sure. Your doctor may want you to pack the wound with a gauze substance and shower it regularly.Hope this helps. See your doctorDr. J

You have some loss of skin in the central region.  You need to be evaluated in person by your surgeon. You may need some debridement.

In so far as one can tell from a photograph I think it is likely that you have full thickness skin loss in a triangle between your chest and nipple on the right side. This may be skin deep or there may be dead breast tissue under the skin. At present there is no obvious sign of infection in the photograph. You should bring this to the attention of your PS. I think this area may need to be remove at some stage and possibly require further surgery. You are likely to have a wound at this site which will take a number of weeks to heal. You should be under the supervision of your plastic surgeon.
