Pain around areola 2 years after areola reduction. Is this normal?

There are many  reasons why the areola may be painful. An exam is necessary to try to identify the cause. Best of luck.

You describe the area as firm, or hard, and painful.This may represent a small neuroma, or fat necrosis, or a combination of both.You may want to consult your surgeon for a limited removal of the painful area, especially if there is point tenderness.Wishing you  all the best,Talmage Raine MD FACS
