Answer: Swelling Hello,It is probably due to swelling! It takes 1-3 years for the swelling to fully go down after a rhinoplasty. The tip takes the longest time to heal and mold to the new framework because it is the thickest skin of the nose. The skin over the profile is thinner than the skin over the tip.

Answer: Nostril asymmetry Nostril asymmetry is common and often not noticed before surgery. You might want to review your preop photos. Right now you are swollen, and the swelling may impact it as well.

Answer: Nostril asymmetry after rhinoplasty I do see the asymmetry that you are referring to. This may be part or fully the result of swelling but there may also have been asymmetry before surgery and/or asymmetry may have been a factor during surgery. Since you are early after surgery give it plenty of time as changes will occur during the healing process. Once the healing process has finished you can evaluate the nostril shape and symmetry and decide if a revision is desired/needed.Good luck with the rest of your healing.Dr. Remus Repta

Answer: Nostrils different sizes post rhinoplasty Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. You are 13 days post rhinoplasty, so there will be considerable post operative swelling. This usually takes months to settle and the final result will become apparent only then. So it is too early to make a judgement, so do not worry and let the healing take place. All the best.
