From the photo, it appears that you can make some improvements with rhinoplasty. While your nose is not too bad at all, it is slightly bigger than ideal for your face. Some small changes can be made to make your nose a bit smaller and cuter. It is vital to find a rhinoplasty expert for consultation.
Hi,Thank you for including your photos. Comparing your nose to the female "ideal," your nose is slightly over projected (sticks too far out from the face) and the tip lacks definition. The height of the bridge is within the normal range and you have to be very careful about lowering it, otherwise you risk having a scooped out "ski slope" appearance. The best place to start is always by visiting with a rhinoplasty specialist in your area to review your aesthetic goals and to discuss other details of surgery.Best,Mehdi Sina, MD
Hello and thank you for your question. Based on yourphotograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon canaccomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in yourlower nose. The dorsum of your nose can also be changed for a more feminine appearance if you want. Makesure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patientswho have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computeranimation system. The most important aspect is to find asurgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with aqualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person.Best wishes and good luck.Richard G. I would recommend starting with a consultation with a board certified facial plastic surgeon that specializes in rhinoplasty surgery to discuss if rhinoplasty can address your concerns. I would recommend writing down the following questions before scheduling your consultation:1. Are you unhappy with the tip of your nose? 2. Do you feel that your nose is too wide? 3. Do you want to make your nostrils smaller in appearance? 4. Are you looking to decrease the general size of your nose?I hope some of these questions will help you pinpoint what it is that you don't like about your nose. I wish you the best as you research your options when scheduling a rhinoplasty consultation.Sincerely,Philip J. Miller, MD, FACS Double Board Certified Facial Plastic Surgeon
First of all, I think you are starting off with a fairly good looking nose, and even though there are few things that could be improved about your nasal appearance, you have to be careful about not making it worse. For example, you have a slightly overprojected tip, therefore lowering dorsal height without changing the tip projection is not likely to give you a good result. I think, computer imaging is very important in your case. It could show you what you can expect from various changes in your nose (lowering the dorsum, lowering tip projection, narrowing your nasal bones, etc) and help you and your surgeon to formulate your surgical plan.
The side profile photograph demonstrates an overly projecting nose, and an under projected chin. The under projection of the chin makes the nose look bigger than it really is. Consider a rhinoplasty procedure to decrease the projection of the nose and to feminize it, and a chin implant to augment the chin forward to balance out the side profile with respect to the overly projecting nose. For many examples of this combination, please see the link and the video below
You don't really have the usual things that motivate patients to have a rhinoplasty, such as a hump, asymmetry, deviation, or a bulbous or large nasal tip. Your case would be purely finesse and refinement to achieve a slightly lower bridge, and a more refined nasal tip. I think that these goals can be achieved with a well-executed rhinoplasty.
Hi,The best way to see what your nose can look like after rhinoplasty is have your nose computer imaged. You can reduce the size of your nose but reshaping the nose may also enhance your look. Feel free to send your pics for imaging.Best,Dr.S.
With IV sedation, you would sleep through the procedure and not know it happened, but wouldn't need a breathing tube like in general anesthesia. In cases like yours, I generally punt the decision to the neurosurgeon who evaluated your aneurysm. We would tell him what you want to plan, and you...
Try and be patient as your nose will continue to heal and make changes.Typically, the initial swelling after nose surgery subsides within two to three weeks. However, residual swelling, especially in the tip of the nose, can take about a year to resolve as the contour refines. Swelling can a...
You need to know exactly what the surgeon is planning to accomplish -- what features he thinks he can change, and by how much he thinks he can change them. When you see his goals, you'll know whether he has an eye for an attractive nose, and whether he shares your opinion of what constitutes an...
