Thank you for sharing your recent experience with lip filler. It is completely normal to see significant swelling for up to 2 weeks after your initial injections. The unevenness you are noticing is also normal and should settle within the next couple weeks. Icing the treated areas on/off may help the swelling resolve sooner. At the two-week mark, I recommend following up with your injector for evaluation. If you are still experiencing unevenness, your injector may recommend dissolving some of the filler with an enzyme called hyaluronidase. After injection with the enzyme, the unevenness should resolve within 24 hours. In the meantime, ice should help!
Hello IShape.Yes, it is normal to have uneven swelling after dermal fillers. This should get a lot better, but I always strongly suggest you see your injector 2 to 3 weeks after the injection to check on your progress. Best wishes, Dr. ALDO
A side effect of Juvederm in the lips is swelling and bruising- sometimes the swelling can cause it to look uneven. Give it two weeks and return to your injector if you are unhappy.
Yes, you can have some uneven swelling after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thanks for sharing your question and photo. Swelling and bruising are commonly seen after lip filler injection and can last up to 14 days. Sometimes this swelling/bruising can be asymmetric. I do not see anything to be concerned about in your photo taken 3 days after injection. Give your lips some time to settle down. If you are still not happy with your results at the 2 week point, then I would followup with your injector to discuss your concerns. Good luck.
Thank you for sharing your photo and your concerns. The lips are a particularly sensitive area, and are prone to swelling and bruising that can last up to 2 weeks after filler injections. This swelling may be uneven, and can make the lips look lopsided or asymmetric, so it is impossible to assess your final results until the swelling has fully subsided. Gently applying ice or cool compresses to your lips may help the swelling resolve sooner. If in two weeks you are still noticing swelling or lumpiness, please follow-up with your injector to discuss your concerns. He/she may be able to gently massage out any remaining lumps, or dissolve them with hyaluronidase. Best of luck!
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph. Sorry that you are having some concerns about your postprocedure appearance. Swelling and bruising is normal after treatment with Juvederm. Early on, swelling can sometimes cause the appearance of asymmetry. Icing is beneficial for up to 48 hours after the procedure. Arnica is also helpful for minimizing normal postprocedure swelling and bruising. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow for normal postprocedure swelling and bruising to resolve and to see your final result. At that point, if you continue to have any concerns, please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Thank you for your question babychka20000. Iam sorry to hear about your situation. Juvederm is a filler used to enhance theappearance of the face. After any injection swelling is possible and often it is asymmetric. Swelling can last up to two weeks. At that point the final results are seen. In our office, we have patients return at that time to assess the results and possible add more filler if further enhancement is desired. Please consult with a doctor for specificrecommendations. Good luck!

Thank you for your question. It is very unlikely that your Juvederm injections is causing your flu like symptoms. I recommend following up with your primary care doctor for an evaluation. Best of Luck!
Thank you for your question. No, your injury to your lip should not affect your filler treatment. It is normal to experience some swelling to your lips after hitting them and you can use cold compresses to help reduce it. If this does not get better please follow up with your injector. Best of Luck!
