22 year old female. My hip bones are far too wide, and I want to fix them. When I touch my hips it’s clear the bones are far below my skin and that the problem is not fat but the bone. The top of each hip bone protrudes (I’ve always had a boxy hip shape but now I have an extremely pear like shape regardless of the fact that I’m slim overall). How can I fix the bone?
Answer: Wide “hip” bones and “pear” shape Although it is possible, but definitely not practical, to remove a portion of those protruding “hip” bones you are asking about, it is much better to convert your pear shape figure to an hourglass shape with cosmetic hip implant. In general, cosmetic hip implants are the most reliable, predictable, and permanent option for filling in the hip dips and creating more of that feminine hourglass figure. Typically hip implants are best custom designed and created for each individual patients anatomy. Because an extremely few number of board-certified plastic surgeons perform this procedure, make sure you seek consultation with a reputable an experienced cosmetic hip implant specialist. On the other hand, fat transfer to the hip area tends to survive quite poorly in most patients and thus produces only short term results (often less than 10-12 months). Glad to help.

Answer: Hip reduction Dear haileyrector, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you have wide hip bones, then there is nothing you can do about it. There are no treatments to reduce the width of hip bones. However, liposuction and fat transfer can create a better body shape. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Hip bones If your issue is truly a hip bone shape, there is no treatment. However, from your limited photos, it appears you have ample fat of your flanks (sides and lower back). Removing this fat markedly changes your shape.Dr T

Answer: Body shape comes primarily from skeletal structure Congratulations on recognizing that your body shape is primarily based on skeletal structure. I wish more people were as enlightened as you are. There is no appropriate surgery to reduce your pelvis. Fat manipulation through fat transfer and Liposuction is the best option available. The other option is to honor your heritage, your parents and your God and accept your body as being appropriate and attractive. That may not be the worst idea either. It is a better opinion than looking to reduce your pelvis. Well then Liposuction in this area delivers impressive results and is usually sufficient for most people regardless of bone structure.
