Microneedling and Juvederm Vollure lip filler: I’m worried it somehow dissolved.

Question

i did at home microneedling with a 0.05 (i think) blade and then got my lips filled with juvaderm vollure. It’s been like two weeks since filler and I don’t think microneedling before the procedure affected it but I randomly ran the tool over my lips again today and I’m worried it somehow dissolved the some of the filler, is this a possibility??

Thank you for sharing your excellent question.  Because Vollure is placed deeper into your lip tissues it will not be impacted by your microneedling.  Additionally the red of the lips should not have micro needling performed.  Hope this helps.

Microneedling prior to filler is a plus! One only needs to wait 3-4 weeks prior after the needling for the dermal filler. The reverse is not true. Microneedling after the filler is not helpful and will shorten the duration of the filler. Your brief treatment today most likely did not make much difference, but I would not continue that practice. Microneedling the lips is not recommended either, the lips are more subject to inflammation and can place you at risk for granuloma formation. Hoping the best for you!
