Hello, I have a round face and would like to slim it down a bit. I was looking into getting masseter Botox. Will this slim my face? Or would something like filler in my cheeks give me better results? It’s just very round looking in pics I’d like a more structured face, thank you

Answer: Botox for jawline Thank you for your question and picture! Botox to the masseter muscle can slim down the face in patients that have an overactive and strong masseter muscle. It looks like you may be a good candidate but I would need to do an in person physical exam to asses your muscle function. If you are a good candidate, it takes about 20-30 unites of Botox on each side to help relax the muscle and slim down the jaw line. Most patients require 2-4 sessions for optimal results. I recommend consulting a board certified plastic surgeon or expert injector to see if Botox is right for you!

Nevertheless, the use of Botox to slim the masseter muscles and taper the lower face has become quite a common procedure nowadays, one which has particularly sought after among Asian women. Treating the masseters in this fashion is not an area for novice injejctors of Botox accustomed only to treating simple "Eleven Lines" in the glabella region.
