Would losing weight after a tummy tuck and breast reduction ruin the result?

Congratulations on your weight loss thus far! Although it is ideal to come as close as possible to your target weight before getting a mommy makeover, excess skin can make exercise very difficult. You are however, within a close enough window to your target weight that you could schedule a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon for an evaluation and to discuss your mommy makeover timeline. To get the best results you should be on your desired weight for 3 to 6 months, I'm sorry that  you are having trouble with the last 20 pounds. However, I don't think that 20 pounds could ruin your result, if you have been in the same weight for at least 3 months then you are ready to go on with the surgery, the worst that can happen is if you lose 20 pounds more after surgery and you have some redundant or saggy skin again it can be fixed with a minor procedure. Be sure to discuss your goals and expectations with your plastic surgeon and follow all the instructions before and after your surgery.

Congratulations on your weight loss! If you are 10 to 20 pounds of your goal, losing more weight after surgery will probably not affect your results. However it is best to be seen by a board certified plastic surgeon who will be able to advise you. Good luck.

Congratulations on your weight loss!  The answer to your question can vary from person to person.  In general the results of a tummy tuck are not "ruined" by additional weight loss, and in some cases the results can be even better after more weight loss.  We do recommend getting as close as possible to your goal weight and having your weight stabilized for a few months before a tummy tuck to avoid developing any additional loose skin after a tummy tuck.

I think you have plateaued at this point and perhaps it is a good time for you to get the plastic surgery operation you been thinking about for sometime. However, it is always best to have plastic surgeon when you have met your goal weight and have stabilized there for 3 to 6 months. Losing weight after a tummy tuck is not necessarily an issue unless you are losing so much as to require another tummy tuck. Weight loss can have less than favorable effects on the appearance depending upon the amount lost and intrinsic tissue integrity. Having photos to review or an in-office exam would provide a more accurate response.
