Current lip fillers too deep to dissolve. Can I get more lip filler to achieve my look? (photos)

Hi @Considerate148650. Hyaluronic acid facial filler products that were previously injected into an improper tissue plane can be dissolved by hyaluronidase injections. Best of luck, Dr. Nima!

There are surgical and non-surgical approaches to lip augmentation. Non-surgical approaches include botox (slight lift, reducing gum show) and filler (volume restoration). Surgically, you can have two separate incisions under the nose (italian), one incision under the nose (bull horn), one incision at the red/white upper lip junction (gull wing) or two separate incision at the corners, or a combination, depending on your desired look and anatomy. My preferred surgical technique is called the Elelyft, which is a version of the bullhorn approach.

In your situation, as long as hyaluronic acid was used then it should be dissolvable. There is a limit to what can be achieved given a persons' starting anatomy.

Consult with an experienced lip surgeon for a complete range of options that are appropriate for your situation.

I typically use Juvederm for my lip sculpting. There are two main focuses of lip injections, adding volume and actually sculpting the shape. Both involve injecting the filler in different areas of the lips and patterns.
I would recommend finding a plastic surgeon to perform you lip injections.Most of my patients have results that last at least 6 months.

It appears from the picture that your bottom lip has filler into the actual cutaneous portion of the lip rather than being confined to the vermilion (red lip). I am confused why this cannot be dissolved. If this was an HA filler, it should be able to be dissolved. If it is a more permanent filler then there no dissolving capability. If it cannot be dissolved, one option is to attempt surgical excision. I think that in order to get the look they you are trying to achieve, you will first need to remove the misplaced filler

You can absolutely have lip fillers. You can have additional filler put into the lips to get the look that you want. Juvederm ultra plus wold be the best treatment for you. Please consult an expert in lip injections to have the best cosemtic results. Best. Dr. Green
