Thank you for the detailed question and corresponding photo. Kybella could be used off label to get rid of fat in different areas of the body such as the knees. To determine how much you would need is hard with just a picture, as it looks like some of your issue may be loose skin. This would be better treated with a laser to tighten the skin around the knee. Yes. Kybella can be used off label in a number of different areas. Knees and the areas near the arm pits are common and respond very well. It is FDA approved only for treatment of sub mental fat. It will probably take 3-4 treatments of one vial for each knee.

 I have  used Kybella off-label to reduce the amount of fat around the knees. You will probably need about three treatments, as approximately 20-30% of fat is removed at a time. It will take at least two to four vials per knee per treatment. You might also consider CoolSculpting’s CoolMini. You would need two or three sessions to get optimal results. Consulting a board-certified dermatologist will let you choose the best option based on your needs and expectations.

Kybella can be used to "melt" fat anywhere on the body.  However, it is really only effective for localized areas like the bra fat or knee fat in thinner individuals.  The knee area has not been studied effectively; however, this is a potential treatment area.  It will likely 2 vials per knee an multiple sessions for good results.  Best of lukc.

Yes, Kybella could be used to treat / dissolve the fat over your knees. However, it would take a lot of Kybella and it would be pretty expensive.  I would recommend you consider liposuction for the fat removal it would be less expensive and more effective.

Theoretically yes it can, however the FDA has approved Kybella for the treatment of submental fat or fat under the chin only.  If a doctor uses Kybella for fat reduction elsewhere on the body it would be an off label use.  Mesotherapy is used  extensively in Europe for fat reduction all over the body. Mesotherapy includes deoxycholic acid, the main ingredient in Kybella, among other medications for fat reduction.

Dear roseyport1:Kybella can be used above the knee for excess fat, as well as above the bra tops or inner thighs, as “off-label” treatment. Laxity responds well to Microneedling with PRP, and/or Ultherapy. I have seen good results with these treatments above the knees.All the best,   Dr. Clark

Kybella is an injectable product that can be used to help your body to rid itself of fat cells that form under the chin (submental fat).
