When I smile it is very asymmetrical even in videos and when I talk what can I do to fix this?
Answer: Facial Slimming — Masseter Botox, Facetite/Renuvion J Plasma, Buccal Fat Pad Removal, Fillers to sculpt the Cheek/Jawline/Chin This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping. 3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender 4. Fillers to the jawline, chin, cheeks, temples and brow help to shape the face and make it more angled and defined Always use at home derma rolling (see link to Emerageskin x anteageMD roller plus stem cells/hyaluronic acid ampules) and peels like emeragecosmetics enlighten or aerify that can be used to improve skin quality and tighten the skin while improving wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, and Melasma. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Lip Asymmetry I appreciate your concerns, however you do have options. The first option is to do nothing as lip asymmetry, causing an symmetrical smile, is not uncommon and yours is attractive. Google photos of a young Goldie Hawn, who has a famously asymmetrical smile which is pretty and certainly did not hurt her career! Your asymmetry is mild and mostly noticeable when your smile. For this reason, I recommend correction with a filler like Juvederm Ultra plus by an experienced injector very conservatively because over correction will cause another asymmetry. If you like the result, then you can consider fat transfer for a longer lasting result. Seek out a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist with lots of experience treating lips. Good luck!

Answer: Hyaluronic Acid Fillers to Correct Asymmetry in Lips Based on your photos, the majority of your asymmetry stems from your cupid's bow and lower vermilion border, both of which can be corrected with filler. You are also a great candidate for filler in the oral commissures (sides of the mouth) to "lift" the smile, as the corners of your mouth droop downward when at rest. I would recommend a hyaluronic acid filler, such as Juvéderm or Restylane, which can last anywhere from six months to a year depending on placement and/or product used.

Answer: Asymmetric Smile For our patients we may consider using a neuromodulator such as Botox to address concerns of dynamic asymmetry. There are many muscles throughout the face involved in facial movement and expression. Many of these muscles work in opposition of each other. For example, when you smile, you have particular muscles responsible for elevating your lips. Other muscles will work to depress this action to bring the lips back to neutral position or they can turn the corners down when frowning. Some individuals may have stronger muscles on one side versus the other or just in a particular area. Botox injections work to relax muscle contractions. It may be that the muscle that elevates your upper lip on your left side is stronger than on the right. A small amount of Botox injected into the stronger muscle could help to relax this just enough to create a more symmetric appearance when you are talking. We recommend that you begin by seeing a trained Registered Nurse or plastic surgeon in a board-certified plastic surgery practice who can assess your individual anatomy before treatment.

Answer: Dealing with an asymmetric smile In both of the photographs tou have some asymmetry in a smile as well as the general vshape of the mouth. Every individual has some asymmetry. Your asymmetry is caused by the skeletal as well as muscular asymmetry and cannot be corrected with fillers or products such as Botox. You're beautiful the way you are and don't do anything to your face. I hope this helped and good luck from New York City plastic surgery
