Will my breasts sit higher with implants alone or do I also need a lift?

Judging by your photos, you definitely would need a lift and to have a larger fuller look, implants as well.Implants alone would not work well and in fact if you were to see us, I would not be willing to place implants alone without a mastopexy (lift).  Some patients that are borderline you can perhaps get away with placing implants only and still have a very nice result, but in your case the most important aspect of improving the look of your breasts is to have a lift performed as well as implants placed.  Both procedures can be done at the same time and do not need to be staged.Go see a board certified plastic surgeon to be evaluated and see what your options are.  It is also important when you are looking for before and after photos to look at those patients who have had a breast lift performed with implants, not just implants aloneHope that helps.

Breast lift surgery can improve a woman's breast shape by repositioning the breast mound at a higher position on the chest and then centering the nipple and areola on the breast itself. If there is enough breast tissue, I can perform a highly aesthetic mastopexy without the addition of further volume by internally rearranging the breast tissue and removing excess skin. If more volume is needed, especially in the upper portion of the breasts, we will discuss the possibility of fat grafting or silicone gel implant placement. The type of incision required for this surgery (circumareolar, “lollipop” or “anchor”) and the lifespan of the lift depends on each patient’s condition, breast tissue, genetics, weight and hormonal fluctuations, and desired results.
Augmentation with mastopexy is a challenging surgery that requires significant experience to create a shape that is youthful, natural, and proportionate to the body, while managing the native tissue as well as fat grafts or implants. When performed properly, it can result in a dramatic improvement to a woman’s breast appearance.

It looks like your nipples are pointing downward and are located below your breast fold, so a breast lift is recommended. Implants wouldn’t be necessary unless you want to get the significantly rounder, “bolted on" breast shape that is in your wish pic.

You would benefit most from a breast lift. You could combine it with breast implants (small implants) if you wanted more volume/size. However to just have a breast augmentation would not give you the look you are seeking. If you are unsure, you should seek out a second opinion or even a third. I realize most patients want the easiest, low cost solution but in your specific case, you would need a breast lift to reach your goal.Best wishes,Dr. Bruno

Although $12k may sound expensive, the combined breast augmentation/lift is a complicated procedure and far more complex than an augmentation alone.  From the photos you provided, I would also say that you will need a breast lift if you want significant perkiness with your surgery.If you avoid a lift and go with an augmentation alone, you will be able to increase the volume of your breasts but because the nipple position is low to begin with your breasts will most likely not be very perky as you desire.I hope that helps and wish you the very best!Warmest regards,-Gregory A Buford MD FACS PCEOBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author

sorry, but implantation will not give you your desired look. you need a lift........................

Your breast mound may sit higher, but your nipples will be proportionately lower on the mound, as your sagging tissue drapes off of the implant, known as 'waterfall deformity'. No implant size or high profile can fix that. You'll need a lift.

Hello and thank you for your question.  The best advice you can receive is from an in-person consultation.  Based on your photographs, the best shape and contour could be achieved with an implant and a breast lift. Your nipple sits below the inframammary fold and without a lift in addition to the implant, this will not have a natural shape.  A breast lift with an implant can result in a very nice shape if good technique is used.  The size, profile, and shape of the implant is based on your desired breast size/shape, your chest wall measurements, and soft tissue quality.  This decision should be based on a detailed discussion with equal input from both you and your surgeon.   Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and evaluate their results.
