I was born with a weak, almost nonexistent philtrum columns. Can they be created or enhanced with filler?

Filler can really make the philtum columns and cupid's bow stick out nicely and look very natural and pretty.

About 30% of the patients that I see for lip injections are interested in creating improved lip architecture more than just creating lip volume.  Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Volbella or Juvederm Ultra can certainly help you with creating philtral columns.  You may also need some tweaks to the peaks at Cupid's bow.  Don't forget to ask about this!

It would be possible to enhance the philtrum columns with dermal fillers.  This is often done when lips are injected to enhance the cupids bow.  You should consult with and experienced provider who can give you a natural look.

Hi. It is possible to create philtrum columns with filler. Depending on your needs I would recommend the use of either Volbella or Vollure which are both the newer products in the Allergan lines of fillers and both of these products last longer and are less palpable compared to the older generations of fillers. Without seeing a photo of you I can not determine which one would be the final recommendation. It is definitely possible to restore or create philtrum columns with hyaluronic acid fillers.  I would suggest Restylane Silk or Juvederm Volbella for these purposes.  Adding filler to this area will have a natural looking result and improve your appearance.
