Recently started topical Minoxidil 5% and 0.25% Finasteride as didn't want to take the oral Finasteride. Is that the best option? Or, is topical Dutasteride a good option with strong evidence? Any evidence on saw palmetto, pumpkin seeds..etc? And what dose have strong evidence as they are plenty of different info on the web? Thanks a lot doctors and stay safe!
Answer: Topical Dutasteride w/ Minoxidil is Available as Formula 82D The product Formula 82D is a prescription topical dutasteride with minoxidil, tretinoin, and fluocinolone for hair growth. Often hair loss patients ask us “where can I buy topical finasteride” and they are interested to learn that Formula 82D topical dutasteride+minox is available with a prescription and can be delivered directly and the whole process can be started with an online virtual consultation at my practice. Some basic topical dutasteride info is at baumanmedical-dot-com. For many years, we’ve used dutasteride orally as a stronger 5AR inhibitor for those looking for something stronger than finasteride. We have seen excellent hair growth results with topical finasteride Formula 82F, as previously discussed, for those who want to avoid the small risk of side effects that can occur from oral treatments. For hair loss patients looking for a stronger 5AR inhibitor, especially one that blocks type-I 5AR, which is in found the scalp, I often recommend trying topical dutasteride. Answer: Hair Loss -- PRP, Progesterone, Stem Cells, Follicular Unit Transplantation (FUE), Spironolactone or Finesteride, Rogaine all supplements do very little except for oral vitamins and antiinflammatories. oral hormone blockers help but you will likely also need injectables like PRP/acell and/or transplant at some point. topical growthfactors help significantly (see link).I suggest a formal consultation as there are a combination of treatments that can be done to improve har loss. Oral finesteride has very little to no side effects in the majority of people; PRP/platelet-rich plasma + stem cells like A Cell help regrow hair and slow down the thinning process; rogaine and restorsea spray should be used daily; oral viviscal helps keep nutrients high in the follices as well. Transplantation is a last resort but works early in the aging process as well. A formal consultation and combination treatment is needed. Best, Dr. Emer.

Answer: Hair Loss Medicine Minoxidil and Finasteride are the two most commonly prescribed medicines for hair loss, they are generally the most effective while limited side effects. Dutasteride may be stronger but it's chance of side effects are significantly higher, while Saw Palmetto and pumpkin seeds seem to be negligible in comparison. You may also consider PRP injections but otherwise you're doing fine.

Answer: Topical finasteride and dutasteride The experience with topical finasteride (some less experience with topical dutasteride) suggest that this is a good approach to hair loss that produces less side effects than oral medications. Saw palmetto is not a strong or effective DHT blocker

Answer: Why don't you consider doing PRP i, personally, have had great results with PRP. You can see my results on my web site. i very much like the fact that no drugs are involved. Almost no risks of side effects. There are good medical studies showing increased hair density and increased number of hair follicles. You should plan 3 sessions, each done one month apart. After each of my treatments, i just rinsed my scalp in the sink and went straight to the gym. We apply a numbing cream before doing the PRP which helps. Still bit uncomfortable but not too bad at all.david berman md
