Hello I've had Liposuction 5 days ago. I have no pain etc and I'm feeling normal. I used to have fat burners before, but stopped a week before the operation. I'm wondering if I can start having fat burners now or should I wait for some more time?

Answer: Fat Burners after liposuction Many patients take fat burners or metabolic stimulators before liposuction trying to lose weight. These should always be stopped about a week before surgery. You should allow yourself at least a few weeks to a month After surgery before restarting them. In general it is best to continue to try to diet and exercise without these medications. They can often be bad for your overall system causing increased heart rate and occasionally arrhythmias. I would certainly check with your surgeon before starting any medication again after surgery that you had been told to stop.

Answer: Fat burners I'm afraid there is really no such thing as a fat burner.Still, if you tolerated this product before the procedure, I see no reason why you can't use it after.Always check with your surgeon to see what he or she thinks.Perhaps you can find this short article I wrote to be of some benefit (see link).Best of luck,Mats Hagstrom, M.D.
