Extra skin/bumps after helical rim ear reduction. Is this normal? (Photos)

Question

It has been 3 and a half weeks since I had cartilage and skin removed from my helical rim. There is a small bit at the back of my ear that has healed differently. Creating two bumps or extra skin. I want it to be smooth and round. Do you think this is normal or would require being re-stitched?

3.5 weeks is still a bit early following surgery.  I usually at this point recommend that my patients apply a scar ointment and gentle massage.  You will have a better idea of how things are healing at 3-4 months following the procedure. I encourage you to contact your surgeon with your concerns, and inquire about any scar ointments or post surgical protocols that he/she has. Good luck!
