Thank you for your question, This needs an in-person evaluation. I suggest seeing a hair loss expert now to evaluate and go over your condition and provide you information about your best treatment options. There are great non-invasive options like prp/progesterone and/or hair transplantation. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer
ReportEclipse theoretically sounds better as a means of concentrated delivery of PRP, but there's no research that pushes forward Eclipse (or even Acell) as a more effective technique than standard PRP. I personally don't find it be worth it financially. With that being said, keep in mind that there is a technique with PRP extraction, it's oftentimes manual, so there can be some human error with it. Your PRP liquid should always appear cloudy or hazy, some are more yellow than others. It's always best to seek an experienced and knowledgeable Hair Restoration staff when looking for PRP injections. Best, Dr. Anil Shah
Eclipse PRP is my system of choice. It can deliver concentrated PRP with a single spin system. Most importantly, the number of red cells and white cells in the final PRP are extremely low. Red and white cells have an adverse effect on hair growth. I use the subdermal depo injection technique which allows the PRP to spread evenly with significantly less discomfort. Find a PRP expert. Good luck.
Yes, the eclipse system is a good choice for treating hair loss. The new edition of eclipse’s centrifuge can extract up to 6 to 7 cc’s of PRP per kit and can achieve PRP concentration of up to 3 to 3.5 from the baseline.
Hi alot of these prp centrifuges work similarly some claim that they are better than others but data does not really support that. Eclipse which is now owned by crown aesthetics does have fda clearing which is great means they do have good clinical trials and safety precautions for what they intend to do
The Eclipse system is indeed a good system. Though I nearly always use a double spin with it to obtain about a 6X. The double spin provides the high density (HD) PRP I much prefer work with to maximize beneficial outcomes. My goal is always to have a minimum of 6X to 8X platelet density. The only draw back of the Eclipse system becomes cost when needing greater volumes of HD PRP. It is sold by the tube. Obviously, need of greater volume costs more than a couple other systems capable of a good HD PRP. When I need higher volumes of HD PRP procedures such as with hair regeneration, P-Shot or O-Shot I go to another PRP system that provides consistent HD PRP. Of note; A very very new product to the market for hair regeneration uses exosomes. I'm adoring these in my practice and are now my go to for hair regeneration. Exosomes are a product of stem cells. The stem cells must be specifically stimulated to produce the proper exosomes. Those specific exosomes combined with a certain protein create what I believe is the coming next level of hair regeneration and rejuvenation. The benefits of exosomes are many: 1) If there's a viable follicle oriented stem cell in the treatment area, it will be activated and grow a brand new hair follicle. PRP cannot perform this task, 2) Like PRP it will rejuvenate and regenerate any distressed or unhealthy follicle, but do so much more quickly, 3) More youthful hair color is obtained. This is not obtainable with PRP, 4) Less than half the number of injections are required than PRP, 5) Can be used topically and if injected off label, the needle gauge required is a fraction of that required for PRP, 6) Requires only 1 to 2 treatments to obtain superior results to PRP, 7) Visible initial results within 2 months. PRP can take a few or more months to see results.8) Can be used standalone or in combination with "high density" PRP. Anything less than HD PRP will simply dilute the benefit.9) Results are more predictable.Down side: Must be a very a specific exosome with a very specific protein. Therefore, only very very few physicians are able to obtain it. Wishing you a fantastic outcome!Warmly,Arbella Sarkis, MD
The most important consideration of whether PRP will work for stimulating regeneration is the concentration. The platelets need to be over 600,000 and most people’s baseline is somewhere between 150,000-300,000. If a system only concentrates the platelets 3x then it could be 450,000-900,000. No regenerative doctors practicing in orthopedics would ever consider using a kit that only concentrates 3x (which is an optimistic projection given the test tube style that eclipse uses) because it simply would not work and the 2 month outcomes of a single treatment in orthopedics are a bit more obvious. Emcyte kits are the gold standard for reducing red blood cells and concentrating 5-7x to achieve a significantly more potent effect. The kit costs 10 times more than eclipse kits but it is an investment in quality that pays off in superior outcomes.
Prp hair treatment frequency in our practice is administered once a month for four consecutive months. Upon completion of the initial treatment protocol, maintenance will be scheduled every 3-6 months afterwards, depending on the individual.

The amount of platelets that are derived by each milliliter of blood drawn will vary by patient, but it will also vary by extraction technique. Most offices will used advanced centrifuge systems for preparation of Platelet-Rich Plasma. Offices that provide PRP will concentrate their p...
