What to do now? Depressed 8 months after hair transplant.

If you have issues after your surgery, it is best to follow up with your doctor for a recheck.  If you don't agree with your doctor compare your before and after pictures side by side.  You can also see another doctor for a second opinion.

At 8 months most of your results should be apparent but it can take up to 12 months or more for full results.If at that point you are still unhappy I suggest returning to your surgeon and expressing your concerns.Are you using something to prevent further loss such as Finasteride or Minoxidil? Sometimes loss of untransplanted hair can diminish the overall results.

       
 Wait the full year and then return to
the surgeon to re-evaluate your results.   In
the mean time, I hope you are using finasteride or minoxidil to help keep what
you have.

You should have a frank discussion with the surgeon who did your procedure, and be persistent about it, especially about the side you want fixed.

Most individuals will achieve full benefit 10-12 months after the procedure if performed correctly. Unfortunately, poor results are becoming more commonplace after the introduction of some surgical devices for performing FUE. See your doctor at 10-12 months to assess growth and look at your before and after pictures at that point. Remember, an FUE device does not make a hair transplant surgeon. A gifted full time hair transplant surgeon will help you make the best choices to combat your hair loss.
