36 years old female. I had Fut Hair Transplant 4 months ago.1000grafts to fill my receding hairline. There is No donor area pain. The recipient area doesn't hurt But its so tingly to the touch and I can almost feel the back of my head when I touch those corners. And the worst is the Tension headache on my forehead, its All day Everyday! Will it go away, what can I do about it, what causes this?
Answer: Parasthesias from nerve injury of FUT The tingly sensations and headaches are likely from damaged nerve branches which happens in FUT commonly. As these severed nerves try to recover, you can get abnormal sensations that could range from loss of sensation to heightened sensations including headaches and tingly sensations. Most nerve injuries would recover within 9 months. However the unusual sensations can be unrelenting and even permanent n some cases. Consult your hair transplant doctor and possibly a neurologist.

Answer: Headaches and hair transplant You did not mention it, but I assume you did not suffer from tension type headaches before your strip surgery. Tension type headaches are typically related to stress, muscle tightness, lack of sleep and depression-- just to name a few. Hair transplant can occasionally cause exacerbation of headache pain. This will be temporary and only can occur the day of and for the next day or two after a hair transplant. We don’t see this as much with FUE hair transplants. Consider massaging your posterior neck and scalp several times a day and make sure you discuss this with your doctor if not resolved in a day or two.

Answer: Headaches after Hair Transplant You should not have any head pain or headaches after the first few days after a hair transplant if performed correctly. The back of the head will feel better after suture removal. You should see your primary care doctor for investigation and diagnosis of your headaches.
