Can Coolsculpting work for overweight individuals? I had an over active thyroid and received a radiation treatment.

Based on what you have described, coolsculpting does not seem to be the best option for you. Coolsculpting is not a weight loss procedure and is best used on individuals who are at their ideal weight but still has some pockets of stubborn fat. An in person consultation is always best. Please consult with a board certified plastic surgeon.

CoolSculpting is not a weight loss treatment and is ideally suited to people who have isolated areas of unwanted fat and are at or near their ideal weight.  From your description, it does not sound as if you would be a good candidate for the treatment, but an examination of you would be very helpful to ultimately determine that.   

I am sorry to hear about your overactive thyroid and the challenging treatments you’ve undergone for it. CoolSculpting is indicated for individuals who are close to their ideal weight. Unfortunately, you may not be an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting. However, it may be worth a consult with a physician or plastic surgeon that specializes in fat reduction. They may be able to give you a different opinion regarding your coolsculpting candidacy after an in-office evaluation or may be able to suggest a different fat reduction treatment that better suits your needs.
